Over 40 000 attend Vodacom ABH Chatsworth Fair

This year the ABH celebrated 21 years of hosting the Vodacom ABH Chatsworth Fair, which was held from the 29th July to the 2nd August at the Circus Site, Arena Park, Chatsworth with over 40 000 patrons attending the event.

The ABH Chatsworth Fair has the following objectives:

  1. It is a fund-raising event to help the ABH Council manage its deficits
  2. It provides micro-entrepreneurs a market to trade
  3. It provides local artistes and performers a platform to display their respective talents
  4. It also provides affordable entertainment for the masses
  5. It creates an informal and alternate educational experience outside the classroom through the Edu-fair
  6. It promotes the image of the ABH Council.
  7. It has a valuable Edufair component that addresses the curricular and co-curricular needs of our learners.

/The event is a shopper’s delight that takes care for all sides of the market from cosmetics for the fashion conscious, items for discerning art lovers or the thrifty gift seekers. We had fascinating stalls selling everything from home-made pickles to fitted kitchen cupboards. Not to mention a wide variety of food stalls.

The Vodacom ABH Chatsworth Fair has gained a reputation for quality, affordability and taste. Our stalls certainly provided great opportunities for shoppers in search of something special.

On top of all that, visitors were able to experience the joys and thrills and screams of sheer delight and total excitement in the many rides, both for the young and old, at the Fun Fair. And, yes of course, much excitement was created with the spectacular fireworks display that lt up the winter skies.

/Over 45 schools both primary and secondary attended the event on school excursion groups. A range of edufair stalls catered to the needs of the thousands of learners. A special senior citizen programme was put together where over 2500 aged persons visited the event and were treated to excellent entertainment and a hot nourishing meal.

Driven by entertainment, coloured by a wide kaleidoscope of vibrant stalls and co-ordinated by a dedicated team, the Vodacom ABH Chatsworth Fair is certainly the Biggest Fun Event in the Durban South Region.

We offer our sincere thanks and appreciation to one and all for supporting the event.
