| A happy childhood – that's what we strive to give
Over a hundred orphaned, destitute, abused and neglected children are growing up in family 'cottages' that comprise our Rambharos Home for Children.
Each cottage is run by a house mother and is home to between ten
and twelve boys or girls. The girls' cottages are characterised
by fluffy toys on the beds and pretty cloths and curtains ... while
the boys' cottages are more likely to be strewn with cricket bats
and balls!
We strive to create as normal an upbringing as possible - with time for play and homework in the afternoons, 'family' mealtimes round the table, and time to watch favourite TV programmes before bathing and getting ready for bed.
Children are encouraged to contribute to the chores too - like washing dishes, making beds, tidying the area around the cottage and making sure their shoes are clean for school in the morning.
Of course, caring for over 100 children is a costly exercise, and we welcome any contributions towards food, clothing, school fees, medical and dental expenses.
Please consider making a donation now – either by credit card, cheque, Internet banking or direct deposit. Even small amounts make a big difference.
Thank you for having a heart for children.
