Festive Greetings from ABH Council
When our forefathers landed 150 years ago in the then Colony of Natal, nothing could have prepared them for the nightmarish experiences they were subjected to. The colonialists had used the indentured system as an alternative to slavery. It was under such conditions our founding fathers laboured. No consideration was given for the education, recreation, cultural and religious values of these early migrants. The capitalist barons were only interested in the labour they could extract and not in their general well being. Of course, much more can be written about their hardships. But today, 150 years later, we stand proud as a community that despite these challenges, we have prospered. The generations before us were deeply imbued with the milk of humanity and ensured that our community grew in a balanced manner.
Today, in all facets of life but more especially in economic activity, education, culture and humanitarian work we have thrived. When the education of our people was compromised, we built schools, we built places of worship for cultural and religious inspiration, and the Aryan Benevolent Home to take care of people who could no longer take care of themselves, and for almost 90 years the ABH has persevered serving a large number of social pathologies.
This could have only been possible through the dedication and passion of the leaders in the organization and of course, the larger community who invest with confidence in the work of the organization. The ABH Council is grateful to you and your family for this wonderful support. We believe that the responsibility of receiving is more critical than the responsibility of giving. In receiving any goodwill, we have to ensure that the integrity of the relationship is never compromised. This is the ethos that we strive to evolve in all our projects.
Once again, thank you for all that you do to further our objectives and we look forward to your continued support. We pray that you and your family have a fulfilling festive period and that God grants you prosperity and safety in the New Year.
Yours sincerely Rajish Lutchman CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER ARYAN BENEVOLENT HOME COUNCIL? |
